Attributes for HFT, ANSI, VT100, VT220
To specify emulator attributes, select Attributes from the emulator pull-down menu. The attribute fields vary for emulators because not all attributes are applicable to all emulators. @
The following are the types of attributes that you can assign:
Auto wrap
Sets line wrapping on or off.
Enter key
Specifies whether pressing the ENTER key
performs a carriage-return and line-feed
(CRLF) or just a carriage-return (CR) to the
host when the ENTER key is pressed.
Backspace key
Controls whether the backspace key deletes
or backspaces. You assign the Backspace key
to backspace (0x08) or delete (0x7F).
Printer port V
Specifies a local printer port. This field
is used only with the VT220 emulator.
Negotiate as 3
Displays the currently selected emulator
type.
In some cases, a remote host may use another
name (alias) to identify a particular
emulator type. If you know that this is
true for your emulator, type the alias name
in the Negotiate as field.
For example, if the remote host recognizes
the alias VTTERM1 as the equivalent of
VT220, select VT220 as you are defining your
session, but type the alias name VTTERM1 in
the Negotiate as field. Verify the alias
name prior to defining your emulator type,
as an error may result in an unsuccessful
emulator negotiation.
Another example, if host A only accepts
terminal type VT200 and you want to connect
to the host with VT220, you need to rename
VT220 to VT200 so that host A will accept
the VT220 emulator.
